Simcoe County's Premier Volleyball Club
The focus of the Elites organization is on providing the opportunity for athletes to maximize their athletic growth. We have developed over 50 athletes who have gone on to play at various post-secondary institutions in Canada and the US. Some of these athletes have competed at the international level in both indoor and beach events. For the 2020-2021 indoor season, the Elites have 9 girls teams and 7 boys teams competing in the OVA, servicing over 200 athletes from 12U to 18U. Our club also offers camps to further develop athletes, regular clinics, a house league to introduce younger athletes to the sport and beach volleyball training during the summer.

Director of Development for 2020-2021 Season
The Barrie Elites are proud to have David Gross continue as Director of Development for the 2020-2021 season. David is very excited to return as Director of this position and plans to continue the work that he started last couple of seasons with our coaches and teams!
“I have trained countless Barrie Elites’ athletes who have gone on to regional, provincial, college, university, or national team positions … I am excited to share my experiences with all our club athletes”, he exclaims. David was an Ontario university first team all-star playing at both McMaster University and Western University and started his formal coaching career as the head coach of the men’s volleyball program at McMaster. Coach Gross has had several placements with our Ontario provincial and regional teams and is currently a member of the head staff at Madawaska volleyball camp. “I have always considered myself a student of the game and have made it a practice to regularly meet with university and college coaches to discuss the newest technical and tactical trends to which I am now in a position to bring to all our Elites’ athletes and coaches”, adds Gross. Our director has agreed to an aggressive portfolio (attached to every boys’ and girls’ team) which will see him running team practices, age division skills clinics, guest appearances as requested, making team tournament observations with follow-up training and running monthly positional mini camps throughout the year. “I know that there are no short cuts to success … it is all about our athletes receiving quality input and feedback and then that athlete working hard”, concludes the director.
